Wooden House Nameplates
Prime Signs is a family run business started in 1985 specialising in wooden house nameplates. We have a distribution network of over 70 retail outlets, mainly covering the South of England.
The nameplates are hand carved in French Oak, Brazilian Mahogany purchased from a local sawmill and Birch slices sourced from trees felled in the New Forest.

Oak is light brown in colour with excellent sanding and finishing properties.
With prominent grain and a luxury finish, it is one of the most popular woods used for crafts and furnishings.
Our darkest wood offering, Mahogany is a tropical hardwood which has a reddish/brown colour often with striped/rippled grain.
This wood is also chosen for it’s excellent finishing properties.
This is our most popular nameplate. A slice through an angle of the tree giving a unique shape to each and every order.
The bark is left on for effect, giving a beautiful contrasting outline.
